The personalities behind the jewelry – vicki & jennii

We met by happenstance in ’09 working with kids in special education, and quickly discovered we had a similar interest for all things repurposed and reused. We came together because of men (long story); but found our passion as business partners in a more productive and creative venue – jewelry. The friendship endured; the jewelry flourished, but the men…not so much. Fast forward to reUNIQUE; born from a desire to create something beautiful from found objects and other materials typically cast off by others. We love the creative aspect of jewelry design, as much as we love doing our part to positively impact our little corner of the world. Just about everyone we know now happily contributes to our cache of raw materials awaiting a new life. Our jewelry designs express the beauty, strength and playfulness of women, while incorporating reinvented and rough materials of industrial caliber—“found” objects full of new potential in our eyes. We hope you enjoy the end product as much as we enjoy the process.

about jennii

My name is an old-fashioned one that many people haven’t heard before. It can be a little tricky to pronounce, so here’s a little help—Juh-NIGH-yuh.  When I’m not designing jewelry, I’m busy preparing youth with disabilities for employment. Come the weekend, you might find me out on one of Oregon’s many stunning golf courses, riding a bike in the country or spending time with my dear friends who do outrageously fun things together. Life is a blast!

about vicki

By day, I'm a hard-working school psychologist, but I always find time for my many hobbies including riding Sam my handsome Appaloosa, walking my dog Milly, and creating something fun in my home studio.  I am from Austin where recycling is part of the local ethos.  I have formal training in floral design with a degree in floriculture from Texas A&M and informal training in many other art forms, including watercolor and pottery. I live in a beautiful small town in Oregon and am inspired daily by my surroundings.  I believe fashion should fun and sustainable!
